This clip is a very good example of an openong of a horror film
The main inspiration of this clip is the low key lighting which we want to have in our opening titles. It gives a gloomy effect that we want. Also, the way the titles appear on the black half of the screen while the action occurs on the left.
The iconography can be interpritated in several ways, for example the opening hand actions indicates begging and pleading, then it moves to praying. This shows how somthing more dominate is controlling her emotions.
The bird song which is played, contrasts with the imaged portrayed on the screen. The song is very light and softhearted, and the image is very harsh and disturbed. This makes it a quite confusing image for the audience watching which could convey the woman's mixed emotions coming from the expression from her hands.
Note: We are only examining the title sequence of this film.

Our idea for the Main Task.
Our inital idea was based around a stalker-horror in which a man is stalking a woman around a bush.
We changed our idea due to lack of originality, and have decided to produce a retrospective stylistic film in which a demon posses a specific child carer so they commit suicide.
The intial sequence will be a woman putting make-up on in a mirror, framed to the left and therefore allowing us to layer images and the titles over the right of the frame, the light shifts and the female writes a note, posting it on the mirror she moves to the background to a noose and she hangs herself, a baby cries.

Main Task!
In the main task, we have to create and opening title sequence of a new fiction film to last a maximum of two minutes. The Genre's we have been given to choose from are Horror or Thriller. My group and i have chosen a Psycgological Horror.

This was an example of an opening title sequence. I liked the voyerisms and jumpcuts within it. This is the sort of thing my group and I hope to aim for.

Our Pitches. Priliminary Task
(Stacy)- Romantic resturant low key, sun shining through the near table, almost blinding the man - Man proposes, but woman declines, as she was on her way to tell him that she was cheating on him with his best friends and that they were getting married instead, then man drops to the ground suffering a heart attack!
John - A man is sat at a table in a seedy pub, low key lighting, chiascuro, smoke
from cigarettes.
The door opens and another beardy man enters and sits opposite the first man.
He hands him a package.
The first asks : 'Is this the stuff'?'
The second says : 'Yeah, handsome'
The first says: 'I'll take your package anyday!'
Match on action-Passing the drugs package
Jonnny - A man is sat in a bar, struggling to open a bag of crips. A woman walks in and sits oposite him, she says 'would you like a hand with that?'
He replies 'No im ok' At which points the women grabs the crisps from him and opens them with ease. Handing them back he looks deep into her eyes, and says 'I think i love you' THE END!
Sophie - still to come...

My AS Media Production Group. Priliminary Task
Today we decided on our final choices for our group. I will be in this group for the rest of the priliminary task. My group consists of...
Myself (Stacy Williams) - I like to think my input within our group will be professional and that my ideas will play a great part in our priliminary task as i am currently doing A2 film studies and got a B in media at GCSE. However I can easily get distracted and play about with my ideas somewhat.
Sophie Thomas - She is a confident speaker and has a variety of interesting ideas, however some of her aims can be hard to achieve. Sophie achieved an A in media at GCSE which shows she is a very abled body.
Jonathan Prince - He's good with music, so this helps towards the composing of our music within the task. He had great ideas. He exceeded in GCSE Music and achieved an A. This shows that he his very confident within that area and this will shine in our task. The only weakness is that sometimes he can be too quiet!
John Vallis - He is the most advanced in the group, and who we can rely on for almost anything to do with our priliminary task. He's very outspoken with his feelings and is very opinionated and sometimes he doesnt realise it may offend some people. John also achieved a very high grade in GCSE media by getting an A*. This proves his confidence.

As a group we researched and found this a very useful video, which shows this explicit use and breakdown of the 180 degree rule.
